Chrnox - Privacy Policy
Last updated: 10 August 2026.
Chrnox is a studio for building, exploring, and sharing timelines. This policy explains what
data the app collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as possible and never
sell your data.
Data we collect
- Account email. If you create an account, your email address is stored by our
authentication provider (Supabase) so you can sign in and sync across devices. You can also use
the app without an account, in which case your timelines stay only on your device.
- Your content. Timelines you create - titles, events, dates, notes, tags, and
any photos you attach - are stored so the app can show them back to you and sync them if you are
signed in. Content you choose to publish to the public wall (including your public
display name) becomes visible to other users; private photos are stripped before publishing.
- Feedback you submit. When you deliberately send the optional in-app feedback
form, its rating and text are sent to PostHog so we can receive and act on your feedback. This
one-off delivery does not turn on ongoing usage analytics. Please do not include sensitive information.
- Reports and moderation. If you report a public timeline, we store the report
reason, your account id, and identifiers for the reported publication and author. To review the
report, we process the reported public content and the author's account/contact details. A
bounded summary is delivered to our monitored moderation mailbox through Resend; it can include
the reason, account/publication identifiers, author name and email, and excerpts of the reported
public timeline.
- Usage analytics (optional, off by default). If you turn analytics on in
Settings while signed in, we record account-linked product-interaction and page-view events
through PostHog to understand how the app is used. Events use only your opaque account id -
never your email address or a separate device identifier. Analytics are not collected while
signed out. With analytics off, nothing is sent.
Third parties
- Supabase - hosts your account and synced content (data processor).
- PostHog - receives account-linked usage events if you opt in, plus feedback
you deliberately submit through the feedback form (data processor). Automatic interaction capture, session recording,
heatmaps, dead-click capture, error/console-log capture, and performance capture are disabled.
- Resend - delivers account/authentication emails and bounded moderation-alert
emails to our monitored mailbox (data processor).
- Wikipedia / Wikimedia - when you use the optional enrichment feature, the app
requests article summaries and images from Wikipedia. Your request reaches Wikimedia's servers.
We do not use advertising trackers, the iOS Advertising Identifier (IDFA), or App Tracking
Transparency. We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Your choices and rights
- Delete your account. You can permanently delete your account and its
associated data from inside the app: Settings → Account → Delete account.
- Analytics. Turn it on or off anytime in Settings → Privacy & legal.
- Export. Export your timelines anytime via Settings → Data.
