    How Chrnox works

Build the world. Reveal the shape. Tell the story.

The dates find their place, the connections become visible, and the story becomes easier to understand - and remember.

    1. 01 · BUILD

      Capture every useful moment

Add an event in seconds, enrich it from Wikipedia, and keep the context behind the date in one rich card.

    2. 02 · CONNECT

      Make the patterns visible

Zoom, filter, organise into groups and lanes, then link events until sequence, overlap and causality appear.

    3. 03 · BRING TO LIFE

      Turn chronology into a story

Write chapters, play with the chronology, share what you made, or build on a timeline someone else began.

    Shape the view

Every story gets the timeline it needs.

Create as many timelines as you like, for any subject, scale or idea. Within each one, organise hundreds of events without losing the shape of the story.

    • Give every event one clear colour with categories
    • Add flexible tags, then filter by either or both
    • Events arrange themselves into collision-free lanes
    • Create rules that gather events into collapsible groups

Turn your camera roll into a personal timeline.

Choose the Personal life template and add your birth year. Your age appears beneath the years on the ruler, so every memory has instant context.

    • Start from photos and Chrnox prefills their capture dates
    • Or attach a photo and use its date in one tap
    • Several dated photos can set the start and end of one event

    Map relationships

See not only what happened. See what led to what.

Connect any two events as cause and effect, part and whole, or a broader association. Add a note to say why the link matters, then explore outward from any event while unrelated moments recede.

    From chronology to narrative

Dates become chapters. Chapters become stories.

Choose the events that belong together and create a chapter. Chrnox automatically fits and highlights those events on the canvas, while a writing space lets you explain what changed and why.

    • Move chapter by chapter through the timeline
    • Write introductions, notes and longer narrative
    • Let the chapter's events define its visible span
    • Include one event in more than one story

    The age of sovereigns

Across the seventeenth century, European states became more centralised. Sovereigns built permanent armies, bureaucracies and more efficient systems of taxation.

In France, Louis XIV made absolutism famous. In England, Charles I tried to rule without Parliament, provoking a civil war. Oliver Cromwell emerged from the parliamentary army to govern the country.

Farther east, Peter the Great forced Russia towards Europe while the Battle of Vienna checked Ottoman expansion.

The chapter's events lift into focus and fit beside the story. Everything else remains visible, but recedes.
